Tony Roberts
Originally from Detroit, comedian, actor, and writer Tony T. Roberts has been blessed with the coveted honor of being the, Comedians-comedian. The guy other performers love to watch work. His hilarious and refreshing energetic comedy style has granted him respect and created a huge demand for him on the comedy circuit, here in the states and abroad. Legendary comedian and sitcom director, David Steinberg, acclaimed Tony as, A breakout talent after witnessing Tony’s stand-up act and casting him as the lead in a series of funny BURGER KING commercials he directed.
Tony’s television debut was on HBO’s DEF COMEDY JAM, followed by, ITS SHOWTIME AT THE APOLLO and BET’S COMICVIEW. He also received BET’s ROBIN HARRIS AWARD, for MOST ORIGINAL COMIC OF THE YEAR.
As an actor he toured with the inspirational musical stage play If These Hips Could Talk, with Billy Dee Williams, Tichina Arnold, John Henton, and Lisa Raye and with the comedy stage production of Aint Nothing Like Family. In addition; Tony has toured with The BET Comedy Tour, Russell Simons Def Comedy Jam Tour, & USO TOUR (Italy, German, Japan, Amsterdam, and the U.S. Tony lights up the video circuit in “Comedy in Da Hood” released in 2001 and “Durdy Game” released this year. Tony takes Hollywood by storm appearing on the big screen in “A Get2gether” with B. Cole, Kid Capri and Michael Collier and “Death of A Dynasty” by Roca Fella Films both in stores now.
Sent by HBO, Tony was featured at the 11th Annual U.S. Comedy Festival in Aspen Colorado and just completed filming for the new season of Def Comedy Jam and will be featured on the Def Comedy Jam Tour. Tony also has his own major tour in the works, THE HIGH ENERGY TOUR, which will hit 30 cities in 30 days. The tour will also act as a platform for his new comedy album WHERE YOU BEEN (featuring songs Tony performs on stage). Tony is also featured on top artist Styles P’s new album and recently co-created and starred in a pilot ADD TV with Executive Producer Wayne Brady. Soon to be a household name, Tony T.
